This book was actioned packed, every single page keeping me on the edge of my seat。 I couldn’t put it down, reading long into the night to make sure I finished the story。The connection between Aren and Lara was profound but the circumstances around their relationship were so complicated, always shifting into a new difficulty。 Despite the hardship and the realistic way that their relationship was written with all the feelings and all the reactions, you couldn’t deny their connection。Lara has show This book was actioned packed, every single page keeping me on the edge of my seat。 I couldn’t put it down, reading long into the night to make sure I finished the story。The connection between Aren and Lara was profound but the circumstances around their relationship were so complicated, always shifting into a new difficulty。 Despite the hardship and the realistic way that their relationship was written with all the feelings and all the reactions, you couldn’t deny their connection。Lara has shown herself to be such a strong, capable and determined woman but this book took her commitment to an incredible level。 The choices she made to right her wrongs were excessive and almost unfathomable but the way that she was written had me trusting her choices (although panicked to find out if she was okay multiple times!) The lengths Lara went to day after day to make up for the pain she caused her new kingdom and it’s king were exciting to read。I adored all the twists and turns, the complicated politics and never knowing what was coming next。 This was a fantastic read! 。。。more

Wow wow wow! This was even better than the first book。 It definitely brought out some tears and I got a little emotional when it ended。 The struggles and sacrifices that the characters in this book made were believable and the entire story line was just really well done。 My only regret is that there isn’t a third book with these same characters。 Such a great second installment to a series!

THEN THERE IS NO EPILOGUE。 I was obsessed with the angst during this entire book but there was no resolution? This was one of the best written romance books AND fantasy books I have read but I cannot believe I was provided zero closure。 I’m sick right now。

This book made me cry。 If that isn’t a good enough reason to read this duology, then I don’t know what is。 (Just joking, but honestly made me cry)

Great second book! It felt like most things had been finished up in the end of the book but there are still lose ends but maybe they are finished in the third book but I have heard it doesn’t follow Lara and Aren so I don’t know。 I really enjoyed this book! It again had a sex scene that was too spicy for my taste and I don’t love all the stuff related to the lust but I enjoyed it otherwise。

This is my first review。 I usually just give a star rating, but I have personally found many of the reviews on Goodreads quite useful when trying to pick a new book to read so I thought I would give it a go。 I have tried to avoid spoilers while still stating whether it included certain elements that I usually look for in a book。 Maybe you will find it useful if these are things you look for (OR specifically don't like) in a book。Start and plot development: Fast-paced and quite good。 The action s This is my first review。 I usually just give a star rating, but I have personally found many of the reviews on Goodreads quite useful when trying to pick a new book to read so I thought I would give it a go。 I have tried to avoid spoilers while still stating whether it included certain elements that I usually look for in a book。 Maybe you will find it useful if these are things you look for (OR specifically don't like) in a book。Start and plot development: Fast-paced and quite good。 The action starts pretty much right away。 4/5I usually give a book about 100 pages to snag my attention before quitting (there are too many books to read to waste time on boring ones)。Written from two points of view - the male and female lead characters。 4/5Strong lead female character: 3/5Is there a love story? YesInteresting and realistic relationship development: 4/5Damsel in distress moments? Yes, and I liked it。 It wasn't the "make you want to roll your eyes" type。 The leading lady gets saved but not because she is an idiot that got herself into a situation that could have been avoided。 4/5Some steamy sex?- Yes, not the best I have read but still OK: 3/5Happy Ending? Yes, but it is a bit abrupt in my opinion, I would have liked it if there had been a bit more to it。 3/5Cliffhanger ending: No(I include this in my review because I usually wait for the next book to come out before reading the current one if there is a cliffhanger ending。 I can't stand having to wait, so I want to know if that is the case)Supporting characters: Not great。 2/3Magic? NoFantasy world: 2/5 The descriptions were ok but could have been better。 I didn't feel like it could be a real place, never mind one I would want to go to。It was better than the first one。Reading the next book?: Yes 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This is epic!!OMG I was NOT expecting such epicness and breath-taking moments like these!。This book is so much more action packed than the first one。From the rescue, to the red desert, to fighting for Ithicana, every moment is intense and perfectly described。 。Loved the attention to detail on the desert scenes - the sand storm side effects on the human body, the result of hours of sun exposure on the skin, the thirst。。。 It made everything sound so realistic!。Lara and Aren's relationship fights t This is epic!!OMG I was NOT expecting such epicness and breath-taking moments like these!。This book is so much more action packed than the first one。From the rescue, to the red desert, to fighting for Ithicana, every moment is intense and perfectly described。 。Loved the attention to detail on the desert scenes - the sand storm side effects on the human body, the result of hours of sun exposure on the skin, the thirst。。。 It made everything sound so realistic!。Lara and Aren's relationship fights through the hardship and it's swooning to see this slowburn romance grow back again and solidify even stronger than before。。The writing is fantastic and easy to follow, makes you want to keep reading chapter after chapter。。I just wished we had a bit more from her sisters and from her brother and Zarrah, at some point they just disappear from the story to keep the focus on Lara and Aren and Ithicana, but their presence is everything。。The same with Coralyn, I wish I got to see more of her or at least learn what happened to her。。Lara is a badass, one of the fiercest female leading characters I've ever seen and I can't help compare her to Aelin, although, since Lara doesn't have any powers and is fully human, everything she does and is capable of becomes even more amazing。 。。。more

I could not put this book down。 Just like the first book it was so addictive。 The romance, uh the tension, I just devoured it。 Lara is one of the most strong and most resilient MCs, and I will love her forever。 4。25

If you're looking for a fast paced fantasy romance series, look no further, this is for you。 The Bridge Kingdom ends with a cliffy, so thank fuck this one hits the ground running。 I didn't want any wallowing or self-pitying, I wanted action and momentum, so this DELIVERED。 There's mini quests to get the odds and ends needed for the ultimate goal, but this tracks along beautifully。 Lara finally shows her true badass colors and I was living for it。 There are moments of vulnerability but that only If you're looking for a fast paced fantasy romance series, look no further, this is for you。 The Bridge Kingdom ends with a cliffy, so thank fuck this one hits the ground running。 I didn't want any wallowing or self-pitying, I wanted action and momentum, so this DELIVERED。 There's mini quests to get the odds and ends needed for the ultimate goal, but this tracks along beautifully。 Lara finally shows her true badass colors and I was living for it。 There are moments of vulnerability but that only goes to show that she's human, granted a very lucky one at that, but still human regardless。 Aren has a sort of humor and charm I can't help but love。 And all the surrounding characters made this much more high stakes and enjoyable。 There's no magic or anything of the sort in this, but there must have been drugs or something addictive because I could not put it down。 I even brought this with me to read this while waiting for gas and then my bubble tea order lol。-0。5 stars because of how fucking stupid and annoying Aren was for a bit。 Lara was ready to do what needed to be done, but this guy strung her along and then dumped her because ~honor~。 No, my guy。 No。 That's not the post nut clarity we all wanted from you。 You're lucky she's capable, loyal, and saved the day cause you're DUMB。 Outside of that incident, he's was still a pining mess, conflicted between love for his country and love for his wife, so I GUESS I understand。 But the guy really did everyone dirty for a couple chapters there。-0。5 stars because of the unsatisfying final encounter between Silas and Lara。 It could've been so epic。 I felt it was meh。 I also didn't think I'd ever cry over sharks, but I did。 This review is a mess, as was I when I read this book。。。。you should read it。 。。。more

Jesus Christ I'm not okay, this was enough torture。 I have been almost continually crying the past 3 hours reading this。 It was soo good。I love love love the dual pov's, it makes me relate to both of the characters and cry for them both。 Yeah there was a lot of crying。 Reading the second half very tired might've been the cause of that, lack of sleep really opens up my tear ducts。 Jesus Christ I'm not okay, this was enough torture。 I have been almost continually crying the past 3 hours reading this。 It was soo good。I love love love the dual pov's, it makes me relate to both of the characters and cry for them both。 Yeah there was a lot of crying。 Reading the second half very tired might've been the cause of that, lack of sleep really opens up my tear ducts。 。。。more
